HTC Officially Announced First Facebook-centered Smartphone In The United States

HTC has officially unveiled the Facebook-centered HTC First in United States. The Android smartphone will be available exclusively on AT&T in the United States from next Friday, April 12 for $99.99 with a two-year contract. Pre-orders of this “Facebook” phone is likely to commence on April 4th.


In case of European buyers, the HTC First will be offered by Orange and E. It is expected to be available in Europe within next few months. But no such pricing and exact period for availability are yet to be announced.

HTC First has already made number of appearance prior to this official launch. The most important feature of the HTC First will be the integration of the freshly announced Facebook Home launcher into its Android OS. It is the first of its kind phone with such a facility dedicated to one very popular social networking site. It is not difficult to guess that Facebook Home is built with your social networking cravings in mind. HTC First features include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset with a dual-core CPU and a gig of RAM. A 4.3″ 720p display, 5MP camera, and access to AT&T’s LTE network are also part of the smartphone’s specifications. The Android version is likely to be 4.1 Jelly Bean.
