The use of Kill Switch may tamp down theft of iPhone

An activation lock has been introduced in the iphone to protect the mobile from theft. A kill switch is used in the iPhone with iOS 7 to make the phone off limits to the thief once the user activates the password. It cannot be reopened without the iCloud password. The thief cannot sale the mobile. The selling value of the device may turn to zero with the use of kill switch in the iPhone.

The theft in San Francisco has gone down from 67% earlier this year. iPhone theft has added to the crime rate in the year 2012. A department of police has been incorporated to look in to the matters of iPhone theft. The manufacturer of iPhone has thought about these incidents and come up with the idea of kill switch in the device. The iphone is protected in better manner through this process. The customer can roam about freely with the introduction of this feature in the iPhone.

The feature of the Find my Phone can be abused by the hackers and thieves. It is often seen the thieves get time to unload the device while the customer activates Find my phone feature. It is used to be snatched by the thieves twice a week. However the percentage of iPhone snatchers has reduced due to introduction of kill switch in the device.

Now-a-days it is seen that the thieves are reselling the parts of the iPhone. It can be reduced of the customer does not buy phones with proper documentation. However the activation lock has been used in the device to promptly send a report to the customer and police. It may help the police to find the device as well the iPhone.

It is a unique feature introduced in the device to provide protection to the customer. It is not used in any other android devices. Samsung has tried to incorporated similar kind of protection program with LoJack app. Samsung has promised their customer to introduce a kill switch in the device like iPhone from June 2015. With the introduction of kill switch in the iPhone the brand has garnered attention from the customer.
