Sony Ericsson is following the footstaps of Samsung as it is next in line to introduce the Android Gingerbread 2.3.4 to its Sony Ericsson 2011 range of handsets. These handsets are going to get this new OS in this year itself. Currently the updates are being tested on the Xperia Play, the Neo Arc and the Pro handsets. There is also going to be another update that will also be introduced to three other handsets in the forthcoming months like the Ray, The Active and The Txt. It is said that this upgrade will successfully fix a number of bugs and related vulnerabilities that these handsets are currently facing!

It is not yet ascertained that these updates will be introduced for the Sony Ericsson sets of the X8, the X10 Mini Pro or the X 10 Mini. The X10 may also be in line because of its large screen and just the right amount of storage for the new Gingerbread update. There are rumors of the Android Gingerbread 2.3.5 coming up in the future and there is news that the mobile platform for Google HoneyComb and the Gingerbread OS will be merged into a single entity called the Ice Cream Sandwich!
