Samsung Evergreen eco-phone for AT&T

Samsung has released a new phone called Evergreen for the US operator AT&T. The phone is eco-friendly and uses 70% recycled post-consumer plastics.The Evergreen is free of PVC, BFR and Beryllium, and it comes with an Energy Star 2.0 efficient charger. The phone’s packaging will also be 80% post-consumer recycled paper, with soy ink.

For every purchase, Samsung will donate $1 to Cell Phones for Soldiers, up to a maximum $100,000 donation.

Samsung Evergreen is a side-slider with a 2.4″ screen, two keyboards – QWERTY and numeric, 2 mpix camera, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS and a slot for MicroSD/MicroSDHC cards up to 32 GB. The device supports GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 MHz and UMTS/HSDPA networks.

The phone will be launched on November 7 via AT&T for $80, and buyers will receive a $50 mail-in rebate for an AT&T Promotion Card.
