Motorola is also among the top contenders when we talk about smartphones and to accelerate their sale and growth in the global market Motorola is now trying to use old tactics that provided them with the success they were looking for. This year Motorola has decided to come up with their new smartphone that belongs to the most popular RAZR family. The all new Motorola Droid RAZR is certainly going to resurrect the RAZR series once again in the market. It was in the year 2004 when Motorola made a global impact with their RAZR V3 but now they are trying the same experiment with Droid RAZR.

Motorola RAZR Hardware

Motorola claims that the new RAZR that they have launched is thin and sleek like the early RAZR models but the fact is that the new smartphone is thicker than the Samsung Galaxy S2. However, on the outside Motorola has come up with new features that really makes this phone stand out from the rest. The shell of the Droid RAZR is made up from aluminum, Kevlar and Gorilla glass and therefore it looks tougher rather than having a premium feel to it. However, users can be sure that the phone will not shatter into pieces when they drop it for the first time. Inside the Motorola RAZR is TI OMAP 4430 dual core mobile processor which is one of the best mobile processors in the market. It has Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread which means that users can enjoy the best Android experience on this smartphone.

Motorola RAZR Display

On the front, Motorola RAZR has 4.3 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touch screen. To protect the screen from damages and scratches Motorola has incorporated Corning Gorilla glass. The screen resolution is really great and sharp and therefore you can see great pictures on your Motorola RAZR screen. However, the screen resolution is not great when compared with other smartphones in the same range and therefore Motorola Droid RAZR certainly disappoints in the display department.

Motorola RAZR Battery Life

Motorola RAZR is certainly loaded with many features and therefore it comes with non-removable 1780 mAh battery that can deliver 8.5 days of standby time and 12.5 hours of talktime. However, these figures are only what Motorola claims and there are many critics that claim that the number of hours are quite less when they test it. This could be because of the large screen that the RAZR sports in the front. If you are looking for a good smartphone with longer battery life then you can certainly go for RAZR but you will always need to carry the charger along with you as the battery cannot be removed.

Motorola RAZR Software

If you have been using Motorola phones earlier you will be familiar with the operating system and software available. However, it will be tough for the first time users to understand the software and will take some time to get the hands on it. However, the Android users will have certain options to understand how to make use of the smartphone. The all new RAZR comes with certain pre-installed apps that can help users to make use of their Motorola RAZR in a better way. The smartphone also has QuickOffice, MotoPrint and Citrix and Smart Actions. Motorola has purposely added Smart Actions to extend the battery life of the smartphone.

Motorola RAZR Camera

Like various other smartphones available in the market, the new Motorola Droid RAZR comes with 8 megapixel camera on the rear side. The camera is really good and it can click some decent pictures which is surprising. On the other hand, it also captures 1080p videos which are below average quality.

Conclusion

The new Motorola RAZR certainly impresses the users but only in certain departments and therefore Motorola will have to think hard on incorporating better features that can create the same kind of sensation that made their V3 RAZR the best selling phone in the world.

In the competitive world like today no mobile manufacturing company wants to stay behind. Every one of them is incorporating new ideas so as to get the people attracted towards their product and get hooked on to it solely. Hence the new endeavor by the Cell giants Motorola the MC 2100 is an example of that only. It is a light weight and rugged handset designed to with stand the harsh handlings of the cell users. The design of the phone is just about the size of a TV remote control gadget.

All the phones in the MC line of the Motorola phones are designed for the business and industrial uses. There are three separate versions of the bar code of the device which are featured with a numerical key pad that is positioned under a 2.8 inch touch panel. The phone runs on the Windows CE 6.0 and it has been ruggedized with a four foot drop, so even if you drop it often nothing will happen to it. The phone supports an 802.11 b/g/n. it is also among the first phones which will be a low cost rugged hand held phone which is enabled to support HTML 5. It is also among the first to be marketed through the help of Motorola’s Rho Elements application frame work.

T-Mobile has recently announced a mobile deal where it plans to bring the Motorola Atrix to the UK. The brand posted a page that permits mobile users to register and get more information on these Atrix deals. The release date and the price however have not disclosed.

The above deal is going to make T-Mobile the second carrier in the UK to make the announcements of this deal with Motorola. The first is Orange who announced in the month of January that it would be bringing this Smartphone.

The release of the Motorola Atrix is scheduled for the next quarter of this year. The phone gained immense popularity at the CES this year and it was ranked to be one of the high profile handsets waiting for release. This handset is branded to be a versatile mobile and has been designed to work in sync with a docking station that also can be used as a notebook terminal as well.

When connected to a dock, the Atrix uses the storage and the processing power of the device that allows them to access the data of the handset via a large screen and the notebook speakers. This mobile is all set to be launched for UK next month.

This is a low end device, which is equipped with 3-inch QVGA touchscreen, QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, GPS, 3-megapixel camera without autofocus, and MicroSD slot with 100MB of on-board storage.. The smartphone runs Android 2.1 with Motorola’s Motoblur social-networking and security extensions, which tie in sites like Twitter and Facebook and allow for remote wiping. The browser on the Citrus will come pre-loaded with Bing Search and Bing Maps. The device is designed to work in CDMA EV-DO Rev. 0 networks.

Motorola Citrus has several features that distinguish it from other similar phones. Among them is the fact that the 25% of the phone and its packaging are made of post-consumer recycled plastic and Motorola touted the Citrus as an eco-friendly device. But the main ”highlight” of this smatphone is its touchpad BACKTRACK on the back side of the case. This panel allows you to navigate through menus and programs without touching the touch screen.

The phone will retail for $49.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate and two-year Verizon contract.

Motorola and Verizon Wireless announced a new phone called Motorola Citrus. It’s obvious that this model will be overshadowed by the Droid Pro. It just doesn’t have all the same bells and whistles, but the newly announced Motorola Citrus will be geared toward the entry-level Android crowd, or anyone who is looking to get into their first smartphone but wants to keep the cost down and still get most of the same functionality.

Motorola Citrus is a budget eco-friendly Android device, which is made of 25% post-consumer recycled plastic. The phone runs Android 2.1 and supports MOTOBLUR UI.

It appears to be a touchscreen-only phone that should be relatively light and small, making it a very tempting option for anyone who doesn’t need the biggest and best phones coming out today.

The price has not been announced yet, but we believe that Verizon will make this one pretty budget-friendly. It’ll be available in the 4th quarter of 2010.

Bellow you can find the official press release:

The world’s largest software company, Microsoft Corp., is launching a legal action against Motorola, Inc. over its Android smartphones, which have become popular and competitive in the mobile phone market.

This is not the first official action against mobile phone technology on Android: Apple previously sued HTC due to few smartphones that run Android and several devices based on Windows Mobile.

The American manufacturer of mobile devices is accused of violating nine patents in the smartphones running Android. The patents relate to various built-in functions of thesmartphones, including the synchronization of email, calendar and contacts, planning events, applications, “reminders” about the changed signal strength and battery level.

Synchronize email, calendar and contacts used in many smartphones. Moreover, in this case would be better to sue the supplier of the operating system (in this case – Google), and not the manufacturer of smartphones. Nevertheless, while Motorola has not signed any license agreements with Microsoft, the latter has a good chance of winning in the court.

“We are disappointed that Microsoft prefers to compete over old patents rather than new products,” a Google spokesman said. “While we are not a party to this lawsuit, we stand behind the Android platform and the partners who have helped us to develop it.”

Horacio Gutierrez, deputy general counsel in charge of Microsoft’s intellectual property, said, “Our action today merely seeks to ensure respect for our intellectual property rights infringed by Android devices,” in a blog post on the company’s website.

“Judging by the recent actions by Apple and Oracle, we are not alone in this respect.”

Some photos of the smartphone Motorola MB520 leaked in the web. he phone is also known under the code names Kobe and Diablo. Unfortunately, the photos are of low quality, but there is still something, we can see.

It seems like the smartphone has no keyboard, and most of its panel is the touch screen, under which the touch buttons are placed. Motorola MB520 Kobe runs Android 2.1, has a MotoBlur interface, and it’s supposed that the OS will be upgraded to the newest vbersion – Android 2.2.

The technical specifications of the device are not known yet. The model most likely refers to the average and is unlikely to be expensive. It’s not known when the new smartphone will go on sale. But judging from tha fact, that the phone runs Android 2.1, the release will be in the near future. In the US the phone will be available via AT&T.

Unfortunately, the processor of the Milestone XT720 is not faster than the one of Motoroi, as previously rumored – it’s just a 550MHz one.

Milestone XT720′s Dimensions are 60,9 x 116×10,9 mm, weight – 160 g. The new product is designed to support GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 MHz and UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA 1700/2100 MHz networks.

The Milestone XT720 runs Android 2.1, but it will probably be updated to Android 2.2 Froyo after launch.

The exact date, when the new device will hit the market, is not known yet, but it’ll most likely happen in the next few months.
