2011 Sony Xperia ICS Update Ready For A Mid April Release

There are a number of manufacturers and network operators that are announcing the shift from the past Android platforms to the Ice Cream Sandwich platform. Now it is the turn of the 2011 Sony Xperia lineup of devices to get the latest operating software of Google. There are a vast range of Android handsets of which most of them work on the Gingerbread version and now have a specific chalked out version for the transition to ICS.

The Xperia Arc S , the Xperia Neo V and the Xperia Ray are the first set of devices that are ready to receive the update. The roll out is expected in the middle of April and is anticipated to be continued in a span of four to six weeks. The next set of devices that will follow are the Xperia Arc, the Play neo, Mini Pro, Mini, Pro, Active and the Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman. The update for these devices will take place in the May or early June.

It is true that Sony Ericsson has officially confirmed the schedule however dates with respect to these software updates are likely to differ as per regions and specifications of the service provider. More details on the above are expected to be released in the middle of April.
